About Saman Daroo
The Story of Saman Daroo 8
More than a decade ago, research on the production of recombinant human factor VIII was initiated by a group of leading academic researchers. After several years of research, in November 2008, Saman Daroo 8 Company was established with the mission of producing APIs and undertook the project. With appropriate investment, the project progressed from the laboratory phase to semi-industrial production at the Tehran University School of Pharmacy’s growth center. After completing clinical trials and obtaining the license, by the end of 2015, recombinant human factor VIII (rFVIII) branded as SAFACTO AF, was introduced to the market and made available to patients in need. Since 2010, construction of the industrial production site at the Khorasan Razavi Science and Technology Park in Mashhad began. This facility was ready for operation by the end of 2016 and is capable of producing a variety of biotechnology products.
